Heavy snow plus heavy drinking plus accident plus leaving the scene of an accident = a very big problem. And like ZEngineer said, leaving the scene of an accident alone is a criminal act. Add in the DUI and the accident and problem is compounded. Your friend is looking at multiple charges if the cops find him. You best advise your friend to get a lawyer regardless of the fact that the accident wasn't his fault. That argument flew out the window the moment DUI and leaving the scene came into the picture. Frankly, if he was drunk, he had no business being behind the wheel anyway.
